Testing, testing – can you hear me?

May 19th, 2010    Posted in Media

Ever wanted to get behind the mic and mixing desk? Wanted to bash out your favourite tunes, but just don’t know where to start?  There’s still hope yet.

Radio presenter and local guru, Emma Scott, is set to host a special taster session for her Transmission Radio Skool right here in Birmingham.

Set to take place on Saturday June 19, 2010, the sessions are set to take place at Birmingham City University’s City North Campus in Perry Barr.

Open to absolute beginners and well as advanced radio enthusiasts, the sessions offer two hours of hands on experience with one of the most knowledgeable minds in radio.

Emma’s 22 years experience has seen her through over 5,000 radio shows up and down the country.

Not only will she be on hand to explain the technical side of presenting, but promises to give away some of the best trade secrets in the industry.

In the studio you will get to present the travel news, read the weather and play some of your own CD’s and get to “play DJ”.  After the day you will be given a recording of your studio session.

For the more advanced students, who already present radio shows in college or university,  there will be more emphasis on the presenting side as well as looking at what work needs to go into each radio show, how to connect with your listener and how to turn a news story into a link.

Each session lasts 2 hours with three sessions scheduled for the Taster Day.  Fee: £9.99.
